Start with a greeting, not a prompt. Companions respond to ordinary conversation. Say what kind of day you had and let the exchange find its own direction.
Give small details. The name of your street, the weather, the album you have on repeat. Details give a companion something to hold on to and make replies feel specific.
Steer openly. If you want shorter answers, say so. If a scene should move to a train station at midnight, say that too. Direction is welcome at any moment.
Use story mode for longer arcs. Ask for a chapter rather than a reply and the companion will write in scenes, pausing for your choices.
Keep sessions short if you prefer. Two minutes in the morning is a perfectly good way to use Anime AI. Nothing is lost by stepping away.
